3 Of The Best UK Motorbike Routes

Just because we’re heading into the latter half of the year doesn’t mean you have to put the brakes on your motorbike for the next few months. If anything, the riding opportunities in autumn are just as exciting as they are in spring and summer, with some stunning sights to behold as the leaves start to turn.

There are so many different routes to follow that it can be difficult to know where to begin, so here are just a few of our favourites here at New Rage Cycles to get you going. Which of these will you put at the top of your to-ride list?

The North Coast 500

Scotland’s answer to Route 66 is the North Coast 500, which starts and ends in Inverness, and takes you through some of the most beautiful scenery to be found in the Highlands.

This is a trip to take your time over, so don’t rush, take a break from work and give yourself at least a week to do some in-depth exploring. You’ll find it all here, everything from hill lochs and mountains to moorland, Highland glens, sandy beaches… the whole jolly lot!

Snake Pass

Snake Pass is renowned for being excellent motorbiking fodder, wending its way through the beautiful Peak District from Glossop through to Sheffield. As the name suggests, it’s full of twists and turns, and while challenging at times it’s certainly a lot of fun… particularly at this time of year, with the trees going from green to yellow, red and brown.

Note, however, that it can be treacherous and is prone to biking accidents - so make sure you take your time, check the road conditions before travelling and don’t let the stunning scenery distract you from riding safely.

The Welsh Valley Retreat

At 100 miles long, the Welsh Valley Retreat will take you all the way from Chepstow in Wales all the way through the Brecon Beacons, Rhayader and the Elan Valley, before coming to an end on the west coast.

Exploring the valleys of Wales is second to none and it should only take approximately a day to complete, so you don’t have to worry too much about time commitments. A brilliantly quick motorbiking fix!
